Google will discontinue Google Hangouts till next year, data will be transferred here

Google said, Hangout users will be transferred to Google Chat at no charge.

Google said in an official announcement that it would retire Google Hangouts in the first half of 2021 and transfer its data to Google Chat.

Users will be able to easily transfer their chat history and contacts to the new chat platform. This means Google Hangouts will change to Google Chat.

At present, the situation is not clear about the time taken for this change. Earlier, Google also suggested to merge the hangout with chat or Google Meet. In its statement, Google has said that in addition to bringing its own standalone app, it will bring dedicated section for web client and Gmail app. Chat is currently available on the Gmail app for Google Workspace users. Google says that hangout users will get additional features like inbox, faster search, emoji etc. in the chat app. Fi connected to Google Hangout will be available to use Google’s message.

Free calling will be available on voice app

Users of Fi will get the option to check voice calls and voice messages so that conversations on the messages in the device can be managed. This change will be seen from this month. Similarly, users using Google voice will be able to use standalone. Free calling can be enjoyed on this voice app.

Google has decided to come out of the hangout, so the services on the platform will also be closed this year. The Phone Call feature will be discontinued in the European Union and the United States from this month. It is being told that this will happen due to the new telecommunications regulation.
